To meet our challenges, we are looking for a Legal & Compliance Counsel SEAT (South-East Asia and Taiwan) within the Legal team

This position will be based in Singapore and play a critical role in supporting the business ambitions of Roquette in the region.

Key Accountabilities:

- Be the first point of legal contact in SEAT for legal and compliance matters
- Responsible for ensuring that Roquette businesses in the region operate in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, reporting back and seeking guidance as required from the Head of Legal, Greater Asia
- Ensure that contracts (both supplier and customer) of Roquette businesses in the region are fit for purpose and include appropriate protections for the businesses, including through the implementation of Group-wide policies designed to optimise and stadardise contractual terms and mitigate contractual risk. Review, draft and negotiate contracts
- Support Compliance initiatives for Roquette businesses in the region, working in conjunction with the Compliance team, where necessary, having responsibility for ensuring appropriate directives, policies, procedures, and training for the businesses in the region are generally in place, including, where applicable, the implementation of Group-wide directives, policies and procedures
- Advise and support Roquette on Privacy compliance in the region, including being appointed as the Data Protection Officer where local laws require the appointment
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the activities of Roquette businesses and operations in the region and its clients in order to anticipate future risks and issues and provide updates to the Head of Legal Greater Asia, compliance colleagues and other key stakeholders where necessary to ensure that Roquette businesses in the region are prepared to respond to any such developments
- Support the Group Company Secretary with the administration of legal entities in the region and the implementation and compliance with internal corporate governance policies, controls and procedures
- Support the Head of Legal Greater Asia with the effective management of commercial disputes and litigation to which the businesses become involved including, where relevant, liaising with insurers and the effective reporting of such matters to relevant members of Legal and other key stakeholders
- Provide ad hoc compliance and legal support and advice to Roquette Group generally
- Assist with new business activities, acquisitions and/or disposals by the Roquette Group generally and specifically in relation to its businesses in the region
- Manage external legal, corporate secretarial and compliance resources and report on external spend to the Head of Legal Greater Asia and other members of Legal as may be necessary
