**RWE Supply & Trading Asia-Pacific Pte. Ltd., Legal/Compliance**

**Department Insights**
You will be a key legal advisor in the Legal & Compliance team and provide legal, compliance and regulatory support to our global commodity trading operations out of Singapore, providing robust commercially focused legal advice.

**Your responsibilities**
- Supporting the commercial desks and the Legal & Compliance team and other support functions, including the CFO Asia-Pacific, at RWE Supply & Trading Asia-Pacific Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, which is the local hub in the Asia-Pacific region of RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, a subsidiary of RWE AG both of Essen/Germany and which undertakes predominantly physical and financial trading including coal, metals and freight.
- Working alongside the other legal counsel based in Singapore, and as an integral part of the global RWE Supply & Trading Legal & Compliance team with your other key contacts to be based in Beijing/China, Swindon/UK and Essen/Germany. You will for legal matters report to the Senior Legal Counsel responsible for the Global Commodities & Markets business and for compliance matters to a Senior Compliance Officer within the Europe-based compliance team.
- Assessing, advising on and managing the local legal corporate, regulatory and compliance requirements for RWE Supply & Trading Asia-Pacific Pte. Ltd. based in Singapore, and elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region except China & Japan where you will be expected to support local legal counsel as required. This will include operational compliance matters, trader training and trader compliance assessment panels.
- Providing back-up/cover to the commodities counsel in Singapore, advising on regional banking and trade finance facilities and supporting the CFO Asia with regard to the Global Trader Programme.

**Your powerful skills**
- You graduated in law, are qualified at the Singapore bar and have substantial relevant working experience, either as outside counsel or working inhouse or within a relevant organization.
- You are self-motivated to drive the business and deliver results.
- You are used to advising stakeholders in a robust manner, do not shy away from conflict and are confident in defending your position under challenge and not succumbing to deal pressure.
- You enjoy collaborating globally, including in cross functional teams.
- You have exceptional communication skills in English and proven collaborative, relationship management skills.

**Advantageous, but not a must**
- Bahasa or Mandarin fluency is desirable
