**The role**:
The purpose of this role is to manage and coordinate Catastrophe Risk Property Treaty modelling and aggregation management for the Asia Pacific Region and service the business needs for the Singapore office. Also, to be a key contact and expert with regards to queries regarding Reinsurance Catastrophe Modelling as well as model change/view and upgrades.

**Key accountabilities**:
**Strategy and Planning**
- Key person for Catastrophe Modelling for requests originating from the Singapore and Australia offices.
- Manage modelling requests that come through from Underwriting.
- Key involvement in the Property Treaty Review and Accumulation process.
- Work with the global CRM Team to deliver on requests from key stakeholders such as (but not limited to) Risk, Actuarial and Underwriting.
- Determines own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of personal and team objectives. This may involve using skillset to deliver in other areas such as external reporting and model development.
- Look to review, improve and implement changes in model or Aspen View with a focus on remodelling and portfolio impact.

**Policy, Process and Procedures**:

- Collaborate and be proactive with working with Reinsurance underwriters to help them better understand what it is that CRM do and how we can improve the quality of portfolio management.
- Responsibility for creating and managing the delivery of key reports to better understand key performance indicators of the Property Treaty Portfolio.

**People Management**:

- With the help of CRM Heads, manage, resource, motivate, develop and focus those working on Singapore specific Reinsurance deliverables to ensure the required standards of performance and support the continuing personal and professional development of all team members.

**Skills & experience**:
**Knowledge And Experience**
- Familiarity with principles of (Re)insurance catastrophe models such as RMS and AIR;
- Appropriate knowledge and understanding of the regulatory environments in which Aspen conducts business
- Extensive and relevant Cat Risk Management
- Knowledge of business processes and strategic planning is beneficial
- Strong knowledge of Reinsurance and Insurance
- Good working knowledge of company systems and how technology can be leveraged to improve performance
- Strong technical experience with data manipulation and programming (SQL preferred)
- Track record of improvement to processes.
- Very good knowledge of natural hazards and experience of working on model evaluation and validation.
- Strong knowledge of Asia-Pacific specific perils, modelled and non modelled.
- Expert knowledge of vendor models - including maintaining an awareness of best practice and new modelling techniques and approaches. Knowledge of creating and extracting detailed output to identify risk drivers and conduct sensitivity tests. Able to understand reasons for differences between models in a given peril region.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or relevant and strong experience in Cat Risk;
- Hands-on cat modelling, exposure management, or portfolio analysis experience;
- Very strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Very strong Excel skills;
- Ability to access and manipulate data using SQL databases (Microsoft SQL Server);
- Experience working as part of a senior team within a multi-national insurance environment
- 8+ years exposure management/cat modelling/actuarial experience.
