Deputy General Manager

The Deputy General Manager of Regional Public Relations and Communications will lead the strategic direction, planning, and execution of corporate communications and branding initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. This role is integral to enhancing Mitsubishi Electric's corporate value and visibility through consistent, holistic communication aligned with the Group’s global brand and corporate philosophy. The incumbent will serve as the key liaison between Japan HQ and APAC affiliates to drive regional alignment, manage public and media relations, and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms and activities.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Regional Branding Strategy and Execution
- Develop and implement holistic branding strategies tailored for APAC markets while ensuring consistency with Mitsubishi Electric’s global branding direction.
- Translate corporate philosophy into actionable communications plans that resonate with stakeholders in local and regional contexts.
- Lead cross-functional projects to enhance brand visibility and public perception.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Act as the primary liaison with Japan HQ.
- Establish and maintain timely communication channels between HQ and APAC affiliates, ensuring regional teams are equipped with up-to-date materials and guidance.
- Provide strategic advice to senior management and support regional coordination on external communications.

Planning, Reporting & Budgeting
- Lead the preparation and submission of key reports, including mid-year budget plans, monthly activity updates, and quarterly expense statements.
- Oversee the communications budget, evaluate quotations and invoices from vendors, and align financial activities with the company’s P&L objectives.
- Ensure cost efficiency and ROI in all communications-related spending.

Public Relations and Media Management
- Lead and support public relations and corporate advertising campaigns in collaboration with regional affiliates.
- Build and nurture relationships with regional media, including Japanese outlets, to ensure positive brand coverage and crisis communication readiness.
- Guide PR messaging in response to reputational risks and external events.

Leadership in Regional Meetings and Initiatives
- Plan and facilitate biannual PR & Communications regional meetings to align strategic goals, share best practices, and foster regional collaboration.
- Represent the Company in high-level discussions with embassies, business chambers, industry groups, and Japanese associations in the region.
- Support executive management meetings and drive internal initiatives related to branding and communications.
- Educate and support APAC affiliates in local brand governance, ensuring compliance with Mitsubishi Electric’s standards.
- Monitor and manage communication-related risks across regional markets.

**Required Skills**:

- Over 10 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, branding, or PR roles.
- At least 5 years in a leadership capacity with regional or global responsibility.
- Proven experience managing complex stakeholder environments and cross-cultural teams.
- Fluent in both communication and written Japanese language to handle internal communications, media interviews, and HQ engagement.
