**Job Summary**:
The Regional Director - Climate Risk will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of climate risk strategies within the insurance sector. This role involves assessing the impact of climate change on the company's risk profile, advising on risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position requires a deep understanding of climate science, risk management, and the insurance industry's regulatory landscape.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Strategic Leadership**:

- Develop and execute the regional climate risk strategy in alignment with the company's overall objectives.
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate climate risk considerations into the company's underwriting, investment, and operational processes.Collaborate with senior leadership to drive innovation and ensure the company's climate risk policies remain industry-leading.
- **Risk Assessment and Management**:

- Conduct detailed climate risk assessments, including scenario analysis, to understand potential impacts on the business.
- Develop tools and models to quantify climate-related risks and their implications for the company's insurance portfolio.Monitor emerging climate risks and trends, providing regular updates and recommendations to the executive team.
- **Regulatory Compliance and Reporting**:

- Ensure compliance with relevant climate risk regulations and industry standards.
- Lead the preparation of climate risk disclosures and reporting for regulatory bodies, investors, and other stakeholders.Represent the company in industry forums and working groups focused on climate risk and sustainability.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, clients, and industry associations.
- Provide thought leadership on climate risk and sustainability, representing the company at conferences, seminars, and public events.Collaborate with clients to develop tailored climate risk solutions that enhance their resilience to climate change.
- **Team Development**:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing climate risk team.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.Ensure the team remains up-to-date with the latest developments in climate science and risk management practices.
- **Experience**:

- 10+ years of experience in risk management within the insurance industry, with a focus on climate risk.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing climate risk strategies.Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
- **Skills**:

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in risk modeling tools and software.
- Knowledge of climate science and its implications for the insurance industry.
