**Job purpose**

To be an effective member working with multidisciplinary team in the center/nursing home to provide excellent physiotherapy services.

**Duties and responsibilities**- Responsible for providing quality clinical assessment and treatment- Acts as effective member of the rehabilitation team- Supports and contributes to the development of the department

**Qualifications**- Diploma/Degree in Health Science (Physiotherapy)- Licensed by the Allied Health Professions Council to practice in Singapore

**Working conditions**- He/she must enjoy working with elderly clients or residents and/or people with disabilities in center based or residential care setting.- Good communication and interpersonal skills are required and the ability to converse in major dialects is an advantage.

**Physical requirements**

Physical fit to carry out effective physiotherapy intervention and assessment, e.g. transfer and functional activities assessment and training.

**Competencies**

**Principal Accountabilities**- Clinical Duties-
- To provide effective physiotherapy assessment and treatment for residents in the nursing home.-
- To participate in Patient Review meeting with other team members.-
- To supervise therapy assistants (TAs) and volunteers helping in relevant areas.-
- To maintain good communication with all members of rehabilitation team.-
- Education and Training-
- To keep abreast with advances in the profession and to contribute to the development of the department.-
- To be involved in training of the therapy aides, therapy associates, volunteers and care-givers.-
- To teach and supervise PT students and TA students in their clinical placements-
- To be involved in in-service education of the nurses in aspects related to physiotherapy.-
- To participate in research projects.-
- Administrative Duties-
- To cover the duties of the other Physiotherapist in the Allied Health Team within the organization-
- To provide departmental workload statistic to Head, Allied Health-
- To provide statistic and evaluation for monthly incident report to Head, Allied Health-
- To give input or/and appraise therapy assistant and therapy associate staff-
- Other Duties-
- To participate in projects within own department or in inter-departmental committees and quality improvement projects.-
- Assist in identifying problem areas, recommend and implement improvements in the department-
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior therapist in-charge and Head, Allied Health
