Trainee, Corporate Banking and Credit Execution

Requisition ID: 222101 Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture. **Purpose** Assisting Credit Execution, Corporate Banking Department in Singapore ensuring specific individual tasks, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. **Job Requirement** - Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. **Responsibilities** - Assist in overseeing daily administrative operations support for APAC - Managing calendar, scheduling meetings and appointments. - Preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations and taking minutes at meetings. - Responding to and/or redirecting inquiries on a timely manner - Responsible for addressing and managing sensitive issues develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives and strategic planning - o Assisting in the research and analysis or administrative practices. - o Identifying and analyzing issues and concerns - Assisting with the planning, formulating and implementing of reports and recommendations - Completing of special projects and/or research as assigned. - Support compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements. - Report on compliance and regulatory issue to APAC management and the Board of Directors of SSAL. - Ensuring compliance with applicable law expectations, regulatory requirements, policies and procedure. - Act as a liaison to facilitate communication between Director of Credit Execution with various departments, boards, committees and external agencies. - Represent in conducting business and directing operations.- Managing office operations and maintaining records,- Providing guidance to administrative support staff - Handling confidential and classified matters with a high level of discretion. **Education / Experience / Other Information** - Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or any related field - Fresh graduate or with at least 1 year of relevant work experience, preferably in the banking industry. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills in English. - High resilience and ability to work in a fast-changing environment, with strong organization skills and time management skills - Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with expected collaboration with cross-functional teams. - Knowledge of the local regulatory, political and economic conditions and its effect on the profitability and credit exposure of the Bank is an added advantage. - Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, PowerPoint and other apps standard in the banking industry.
