Alibaba Legal Manager Singapore

1. Lead global data privacy efforts globally for a multinational corporation which include developing compliance related products, designing risk management procedures and systems, rolling out internal policies, preparing agreement templates etc. 2. Provide timely and professional support on a wide array of legal inquiries (both commercial and compliance) in all operational aspects to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities 3. Able to merge solutions across different key jurisdictions and their legal requirements 4. Track new legislation and enforcement trends, analyse their potential impacts on the company and provide solutions to address any issues arising thereof 5. Coordinate internal communication, projects and training amongst different teams (business development, product, information security, risk management, data security, technical teams) 6. Conduct internal audit and identify legal and compliance risks in connection with the company's existing practices 7. Work with external legal counsel (where required) and manage extenal legal spend
1. Law degree from a reputable university with 9 or more years of post qualifications experience, at least 2 years in privacy legal practice 2. Qualified to practice law and in good standing in at least two (2) common law juridictions 3. Possess internationally recognized data privacy certification and/or courses (such as CIPP(E) and CIPM) 4. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Chinese and Malay to work with global stakeholders 5. Experience in technology, internal and digital 6. Strong organisational skills with the ability to be flexible and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 7. Proven performance leveraging cross-functional teams and coordinating activities across multiple business units, organisations and jurisdictions 8. Strong work ethic with excellent analytic skill, attention to details
