The School of Humanities (SoH) at NTU Singapore pursues disciplinary excellence and promotes interdisciplinary teaching and research. The School aims to equip our students with up-to-date knowledge, critical thinking competence, research expertise, and communication skills to enable them to realise their potential and aspirations and to make lasting contributions to Singapore and beyond.
SoH seeks a Senior HR Executive who will be responsible for executing the full spectrum of HR activities for all staff schemes and support the implementation of university-wide HR initiatives/ programmes.
**Responsibilities**
**HR Operational Excellence and Support**
- First point of contact to provide professional advice on the interpretation of HR policies and procedures, employment legislation and processes.
- Execute full spectrum HR activities in relation to talent acquisition, management, retention and separation (recruitment, induction, performance appraisal, promotion, staff welfare, on/off-boarding etc.) for all staff schemes.
- Liaise with Shared Services on job postings, and with approved recruitment agencies for temporary hiring requests.
- Liaise with People Managers for manpower budget/costings to ensure available funding for hiring.
- Liaise with Shared Services and People managers, grant administrators to ensure timely staff contract renewals.
- Assist HRBP on faculty related HR activities including but not limited to faculty manpower planning, search, appointment, reappointment, promotion and tenure, performance management, mentorship programme.
- Assist HRBP in university-wide HR exercises and programme implementation.
- Support for HR activities may not be limited to one business unit.
**HR Policies, Processes and Systems**
- Communicate effectively with People Managers and employees on policy/ process/ system changes and implications, and escalate feedback/inputs to HRBP, if any.
- Initiate continuous improvements to internal HR processes, systems and communications to enhance service experience.
- Enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness (through use of technology).
**HR Database and Reporting**
- Maintain, update and manage staff information databases for reporting and analysis.
- Coordinate EOM reports for billing, audit purpose.
- Collate and compile data when required.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor degree with at least 2 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a large organization; Diploma holders will be considered based on merit of experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access etc.).
- Good knowledge of Employment Act and Labor Laws.
- Strong HR administration experience (in the academia or research sector would be advantageous).
- Experience in HR Information System Workday® would be an advantage.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills with sense of urgency.
- Resourceful, strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage deliverables under tight timelines.
- Outstanding attention to detail, follow-up and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships at all levels.
