We're a team that thrives on taking on challenges and jumping on the biggest news of the day. We're hiring a paid editorial intern to write about business news for 6 months. This person will report to our Asia business editor, and they must be based in Singapore. Interns on our business news team write about major companies, business personalities, consumer trends, exciting innovations, scandals, and more. Companies they may write about include American giants (Amazon, Walmart, Facebook, Tesla, Apple, Google, etc) as well as the companies that dominate in Asia (Alibaba, Tencent, Toyota, Samsung, etc). In this role, you'll be expected to pitch news stories and take assignments from your editor. Interns usually write daily news stories in the 300-500 word range and have time to work on longer reporting as well. You can expect to support the bureau's senior reporters with research as well as produce articles under your own byline. All our editorial interns should have: - Experience reporting and writing (school publications are great), AP style preferred - A passion for digital storytelling - Voracious reading habits - Familiarity with digital and social media - Ability to work quickly and collaboratively with a fast-paced team - Light HTML and/or Photoshop experience - Solid proofreading and copyediting skills Additionally, for the business news team, we're looking for someone with the following: - An interest in covering the major daily occurrences at the world's biggest companies - A keen eye for important and potentially market-moving corporate news - A broad knowledge base spanning multiple industries and company types - A fundamental understanding of how corporations conduct business and grow - A nose for identifying any developments that seem unusual and out-of-the-ordinary - Speed, close attention to detail and accuracy, and clean copy Please note: This paid internship requires that you are based in Singapore, open to working in part remotely, and preferably full-time at 40 hours a week, for six months. **About Us**: Insider Inc. is the global media company behind Insider and an ever-growing family of brands.
