Product Specialist/trader

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Product Specialist/Trader.**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Role is part of Equities Product Desk
- Place and execute exchange traded securities (ordinary shares, preferred shares, exchange traded funds, warrants, rights, real estate investment trusts, business trusts, stapled securities and exchange traded options on equities and Initial public offerings), exchange traded stock options and Initial public offerings received via phone (execution only)
- Place and execute exchange traded securities and exchange traded stock options from direct dealing clients (execution only)
- Update and maintain trade blotter for exchange traded securities (as above) and exchange traded stock options bonds placed by phone
- Maintain and verify Good-Till-Cancel order list for equities
- Provide market information and updates and backup team members, as and when needed
- Coordinate with Operations, when needed, to ensure trades settle timely
- Work on advisory with members of the team in covering select sectors.
- Assist in updating coverage lists, investment rationale for stocks
- Keep track of daily, weekly and monthly flows - Notional traded by volume and value with split across markets
- Present to RM/IC in during internal morning meetings and internal huddles. Participate in client events such as
- Webinars, Podcasts, Product Day events, etc., as needed
- Assist during times of IPOs and equity placements.
- Assist in documentation of various dealing and advisory processes.
- Help take on appropriate dedicated advisory and dealing clients where appropriate.
- Ensure HSBC internal control standards are maintained, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

Requirements

**Requirements**:

- Strong knowledge and proven track record for dealing in Global Equities, in particular Asian and European Equities
- Knowledge of trading in US equity markets is an added advantage
- Prior experience in equities mid
- and back-office operations and processing (e.g. corporate actions) is an advantage
- Some background in equity research or equity sales may also be helpful
- Knowledge of options and experience in trading listed options
- Strong presentation skills and ability to present in an articulate manner in large group, small group and 1x1 setting is important
- Educational qualifications: University Graduate or other relevant professional qualifications
- Client Advisor Competency Standards and FMRP certifications will be an added advantage
- Language: Proficient in English. Ability to converse proficiently in Mandarin is an added advantage
