**Position Overview**:
The primary focus will be project managing the organizational development work required to help FC grow quickly, including new hire onboarding, company culture building, and tracking and reporting on key company performance metrics.
The Senior Manager of People and Operations will also support the FC deal team as needed on, sales and investments, and support aid in closing investment deals and support the Technical Unit's contracting function to scale up new projects. The Senior Manager of People and Operations will serve as a core deputy function within Forest Carbon’s COO unit to oversee daily operations as the company raises funds, designs new projects, operates and monitors existing operations and secures sales from major global brands. Reporting directly to the COO, the Senior Manager of People and Operations will liaise with senior management across the company and support the improvement of company-wide execution, capacity building and sustainable growth.
While the position does not require technical expertise in the forest restoration sector, the selected individual is expected to provide effective leadership to ensure assigned oversight tasks are completed on time, within budget and to robust performance standards. This is a new role at a small but quickly growing company in a team that uses technology, process management and continuous improvement systems to deliver forest conservation and restoration outcomes that will last for 30 years or more.
**Operations and Project Management**
Provide “management leverage” by supporting multiple efforts to scale up the company, focusing on task management for the legal, finance, administration and sales teams.
Manage the Finance and Contracting Manager, ensuring contracts and finance are running smoothly and spending is in line with budget forecasts
Manage the company corporate secretary in Singapore.
Develop and implement the company’s human capital strategy which includes:
Supporting company staff recruitment,
Contracting consultants,
New staff onboarding and
Company culture, retention and knowledge management programs
Ensure deliverables are produced within the time and resource constraints determined by the executive leadership team to expected quality standards and within scope.
Support a clear and simple project management approach for the company’s administrative functions based on existing systems and recommended improvements.
Work with the executive leadership to clarify roles, responsibilities, stakeholders and deadlines for major initiatives and keep those initiatives on track.
Conduct needs gap assessments where necessary, comparing the resources currently available within the company to what is needed to optimally deliver each project.
Support the executive leadership team and Board of Directors in documenting and setting an organizational vision, operational management and human capital strategy.
Reinforce Forest Carbon’s collaborative culture where the overall success of the team is a function of shared responsibility and ownership.
**Internal Communications**
Promote transparency, uniform understanding, and engagement across the company to support key deliverables needed to meet conservation and restoration goals.
Ensure clear communication for each unique project on the roles, expectations, progress, and changes to the project to ensure that objectives are met.
Collaborate with the technical unit to use the right project management tools to maximize information sharing and collaboration across the company and improve on existing SOPs.
Participate and support relevant meetings on project delivery, including regular team meetings, kickoff meetings for new projects, project status reports and performance summaries for the executive leadership team.
**Company Growth**
Support key transactions, due diligence and investment deals led by the COO CEO
Project manage efforts to grow the company in line with strategic objectives
Develop a knowledge management system for the company and a process for recording critical institutional information.
Analyze the people and processes that deliver the company’s conservation assets across all workstreams and document lessons learned.
Perform de-brief sessions after the completion of each major deliverable to document lessons learned and improve project management practice at the company.
**Performance Management**
Contribute to a performance-aligned culture at the company by monitoring and reporting on progress towards targets.
Support a salary levelling and retention program for long-term staff
Develop and monitor KPIs for company performance and provide a succinct picture of the status of core company functions.
Proactively identify, assess, and manage all areas of risk.
Work with executive leadership to set development goals and a performance plan for individual staff and corresponding bonus systems.
