Sr. Manager, Business Excellence

The Tuas, Singapore API Facility is a key strategic manufacturing part of the PGS Network. Many of the Pfizer’s important new innovative medicines are being transferred to the Site to support the overall growth and breakthrough strategy. There are 2 API manufacturing facilities in the innovative network, the Ringaskiddy site in Cork Ireland and the Singapore Site. Ringaskiddy is the default location for all small molecule API launches. Once robust, the API is transferred to Tuas to ensure dual sourcing, guaranteed supply and capacity relief in Ringaskiddy supporting growth. In addition, the Tuas facility is undergoing an expansion whereby seven products will move from one production building to another within the facility. This will be followed by a contraction where the older production building will be divested. Reporting to the Site Lead the Business Excellence (BEx) & Technical Learning senior manager will focus on the new facility in the Tuas API site to advance the site strategies relating to processes and systems with a strong alignment with the IMEx mindsets & behaviors, digital lighthouse transformation, and the data integrity program. The BEx team for the existing facility will be manager by a separate team led by the BEx director. After divestiture of the existing facility, the BEx Sr Mgr. will report to the BEx director.

This role will work closely with the site leadership team (SLT) and people managers across the site and will be committed to implementing and sustaining coaching and supportive leadership models that creates a culture of accountability and ownership.

The BEx Sr Mgr. will serve as the champion for the site data integrity program; assigned the oversight and sponsorship of the overall site approach and actively engaged in strengthening the site data controls and individual accountability for the integrity of data at the site through facilitating education, awareness and reporting. The role will be accountable to facilitate appropriate site-based initiatives to ensure effective roll-out of the data integrity program.

Responsible for leading the BEx (Right First Time, Agility and Innovation) and Technical Learning & Capability (TLC) at the site and aligning them to site business objectives / operational goals and Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) strategy.
- Ensure that the learning and development needs of the organization are identified, strategic programs are designed to bridge the gaps, implement the programs to effect the change and evaluate the effectiveness of the program to ensure business needs are met.
- Ensure that learning systems are audit-ready, continuously improved and are not only compliant to the site and corporate requirements but also best in class.
- Create a site culture based on lean operating principles.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up the BEx organization and manage all site specific BEx activities with guidance from site and area / business leadership to improve and the fundamental value proposition of Quality, Supply and Cost.
- Manage the site investigations processes for both quality and safety investigations to ensure; investigations are completed in a timely manner, the required SMEs are included in the investigations, the appropriate use of tools are applied including DMAIC, 5 Whys etc. so that root causes are identified and CAPAs are implemented to prevent recurrence. There will be a Site Investigations Lead role reporting to the BEx Sr Mgr. The BEx team will be responsible for compiling and reporting all metrics associated with the deviations systems.
- Ensure all investigation reports are concise, accurate, factual and are audit ready. When required, assist with the creation of storyboards to present complex deviations to regulators.
- Participate in the site quality review processes to ensure accuracy of reports and holistic connections are made between deviations, RFT and technical learning systems.
- Lead the site Tier 4 process including collation of data, development of glide paths for off track metrics and working with stakeholders to ensure the T4 content is meeting requirements.
- Develop and implement projects to cultivate a continuous improvement mindset based on lean principles.
- Develop a cross-functional team at the site trained in Root Cause Analysis, Lean Analysis and Innovation skills.
- Work closely with site management and stakeholders in the Continuous Improvement journey to identify areas where BEx projects can add value to transform the company’s performance.
- Work with site functions to prioritize BEx projects and monitor their progress with respect to timelines, resources and commitments.
