**Minimum qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing computer, server, and network hardware.
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware/network issues using Linux tools.
- Experience with hardware/OS, coding and scripting or networking domains. Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) of equipment and ability to exert yourself physically over extended periods of time, including frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling and lifting.

**Preferred qualifications**:

- Experience with industrial controllers (e.g., Rockwell, Beckoff, Siemens, etc.).
- Experience with industrial robot programming (e.g., Fanuc, Kuka, ABB, etc.).
- Experience with industrial vision systems (Cognex, Keyence or OpenCV), CAD and basic machining, and prototyping tools and programs (e.g., Autodesk, Solidworks).
- Experience with SAP EAM.
- Ability to collaborate and partner with people and teams to overcome challenges.

**About the job**: The Automation Technician team supports Google's new and most advanced Automation technologies. Our team will configure, test, operate, troubleshoot, and support all deployed physical automation solutions for google data centers. Our team will be considered as a tier 2 support for the physical automation solutions rolling out to our data centers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor the robotic system's performance, checking for any error messages, unusual behavior, or signs of malfunction using specialized software to track the robot's activities and health.
- Understand all PM procedures and schedules to ensure they can be carried out by a tier 1 technician.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot any issues that occur, whether it's a software glitch, a hardware malfunction, or a problem with the robot's interaction with the server infrastructure. Perform troubleshooting/repairs and generate documentation.
- Install software updates and upgrades and ensure they are compatible with the data center's environment.
- Work closely with other data center staff, including robotics professionals, and security personnel. Communicate any issues, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure the robot's operations align with the overall data center operations.
