Global Sustainability oversees HSBC’s global philanthropic programmes - which focus on education and the environment.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a** Manager, Sustainability.**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Lead and drive the implementation of HSBC climate strategy in Singapore by working closely with Businesses and Functions, as well as with Group and Regional Sustainability teams
- Support HSBC Singapore CEO and ExCo on key sustainability and climate-related external engagements and communications (e.g., with governmental agencies, regulators, industry bodies, academia and local community) to position HSBC’s thought leadership in Singapore and Asia Pacific
- Facilitate the growth of sustainable finance and investments by supporting the Businesses on client engagement, proposition development, GSSS transactions structuring and governance, and capability building initiatives
- Develop and manage philanthropic programmes in Singapore, and provide local support to Group and Regional philanthropic programmes where relevant

Requirements

**Requirements**:

- Understanding of the latest market and regulatory developments of sustainability, especially related to net zero, in the context of banking and financial institutions in Singapore and ASEAN
- Knowledge in one or more topics essential to realising HSBC’s climate ambition, including but not limited to:

- Sustainable finance and climate-aligned finance
- Renewable energy
- Fossil fuels and carbon-intensive sector decarbonisation
- Nature, such as biodiversity, deforestation, nature-based solutions
- Carbon markets
- Project management skills - able to manage simultaneous work fronts with limited resources and competing priorities, as well as in collaboration with different Businesses and Functions
- Communications and interpersonal skills - ability to cultivate key internal and external relationships and engage with diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to drive HSBC’s climate ambition
- Business acumen demonstrated through experience in driving sustainability in a commercial organisation. Financial services experience is desired but not compulsory
