**What the role is**

SPF plays a critical role in keeping Singapore safe and secure with our mission to prevent, deter and detect crime and the Police Licensing & Regulatory Department (PLRD) supports the SPF mission by regulating sectors via its licensing regimes. There is a strong nexus between an effective licensing regime and crime, as well as public order.
The Assistant Officer-in-Charge (AOC) Licensing in the General Licensing Division (GLD) oversees three regulatory regimes under the Secondhand Goods Dealers Act, the House to House and Street Collections Act and the Massage Establishments Act.
You will be placed under the Management Executive Scheme

**What you will be working on**

As an AOC Licensing, you are responsible for ensuring that the processes involved in the regulation and licensing of the three regimes are executed in line with the law and SPF’s service standards. You must possess strong knowledge of the law and the standard operating procedures. As an AOC, you are expected to train and mentor your colleagues.
You will also play an important role in supporting the policy and legislative functions for the three regimes. You will assist to collate the information and statistics for the purpose of reviewing legislation, licensing criteria, conditions and guidelines. This entails working closely with stakeholders such as staff from other ministries and statutory boards and personnel in-charge of the licensing IT systems.
You may also be rostered about 3 times a month to perform frontline duties at the PLRD counter to handle service requests from walk-in customers.

- Possess good written skills and able to converse fluently in English & a Mother Tongue Language;
- Possess effective communication and good interpersonal skills;
- Possess pleasant disposition and willing to perform a role associated with meeting members of public and provide good customer service;
- Able to work independently, is responsible and disciplined; and
- Able to handle and manage work-related pressure.
