Senior Usability Engineer

As a central part of R&D, we develop audiological fitting software for use by hearing care professionals as well as mobile apps for end users to control their devices and support their lives. As a member of our team, you’ll work alongside developers, testers, and audiologists to bring seamless ease-of-use to our overall software experiences.

**The Role**:
As a Usability Engineer you will ensure that the medical software we develop is safe and effective and that it fulfils the requirements from authorities with a focus on EU and US regions.

You will work together with the other team members inside Global UX as well as colleagues from other departments.

In this role you will have the following responsibilities:

- Collaborate with stakeholders e.g. Product Risk Managers, Product Managers, Audiologists and colleagues from Quality and Legal
- Plan and facilitate summative testing sessions, evaluating software, defining test scenarios
- Analyze usability test data to identify usability issues and recommend needed improvements
- Work closely with the UX designers to suggest and track revisions required for us to meet the required standards and practices
- Produce usability engineering and design validation documentation
- Manage hardware and software setups for cutting-edge summative testing Work strategically to raise the UX and usability maturity of the wider team.

***Requirements***:
We are looking for a strong team player to advocate for usability principles, user needs, and ensure standards and practices are integrated throughout the software development lifecycle. Self-starting, attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude are part of your strengths.
- Higher education within Engineering Psychology, Medical, Biomedical, Design, research, or similar HCD fields
- 2+ years professional experience as a Usability Engineer / Human Factors Specialist
- In-depth knowledge of the Usability Engineering standard IEC 62366 and the FDA guidance and know how to document the usability engineering process to ensure compliance with authorities
- Familiarity with other regulatory requirements and standards related to medical device usability (e.g ISO 13485) is an advantage
- In-depth knowledge of the Use related risk analysis
- Familiarity with user-centered design principles, usability testing methodologies, Universal Design and accessibility standards
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
