**Responsibilities**
- Administers, monitors and continuously ensures that all operations conform to safety requirements and maintain high safety standards.
- Organises the repair work on lifting equipment, machinery according to the schedule of the department job allocation.
- Coordinates with supervisor to allocate job to group of workers to perform lifting equipment & machinery servicing, testing, overhaul and give guidance whenever required.
- Ensures that the calibration and inspection of machinery equipment is done periodically and documented for traceability & reference.
- Ensures that workers are using the tools and equipment correctly and safely.
- Ensures that the workflow is smooth and there should be traceability and control in his section.
- Ensures that the measuring instruments for critical readings are calibrated when due.
- Interprets blue-print readings.
- Attends department meetings to discuss the job progress.
- Liaises with personnel from other department, owner’s representative, surveyor, project manager and contractors.
- Ensures the safety of personnel through compliance with Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Regulations.
- Ensures that Health, Safety & Environmental operating procedures are followed and counsel employees about compliance as necessary.
- Participates in the preparation of Safe work, Environmental control and Emergency procedures.
- Ensures that all Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) plans are followed.Any other associated tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time.

**Requirements**:

- A NITEC certificate in marine/mechanical related course or completed apprenticeship in the yard for at least three years.
- Possess good knowledge of overhaul in marine engines and fittings
- Strong knowledge of shipyard's safety rules and regulationsPossesses good attitude, resilient, good interpersonal skill
