Munich Re Markets (“MRM”) is a group within Munich Re specialising in market risk transfer solutions for life insurance companies worldwide.

The group is differentiated from the traditional reinsurance business by its focus on helping insurers manage financial market risk with MRM’s internal hedging and administration platform. Sample transactions include reinsurance for new savings and retirement products, capital management, and strategic risk transfer purposes.

Your job

Reporting to the Head of Origination for MRM SEAsia, your tasks will include:
**Business Development**
- Assist origination of MRM business throughout SEA markets with a focus on:

- Localizing new savings and retirement products to fit local actuarial, regulatory, and accounting practice
- Analyzing solvency and accounting impacts of MRM solutions on insurance balance sheet and key ratios
- Develop Client relationships with an ability to lead detailed technical discussions on actuarial, accounting, and regulatory topics

**Deal Execution**
- Conduct detailed actuarial and/or financial analyses, including technical calculations
- Explanation of transaction terms to Clients and managing external deliverables
- Co-ordination with internal Deal Team, external Clients, and relevant 3rd parties across multiple jurisdictions
- Facilitate internal deal approvals processes

**Profile**:

- Qualified Actuary
- Approx. 5-10 years of work experience in Life Insurance preferably in either Actuarial Consulting, Product Management or Valuation functions
- Strong understanding of technical actuarial calculations
- Demonstrated experience in developing and or managing insurance products in SEA markets
- Ability to network and possess excellent analytical and conceptual skills
- Strong presentation skills, particularly for technical materials
- Strong team skills, stakeholder management and a motivation to work in a global organisation
- Must possess an entrepreneurial attitude and demonstrated successes in business development
- Willingness to travel
