Job summary
Are you a driven, talented, and experienced business leader who is passionate about playing a key role in the APJC Business Development leadership team? Do you have the business savvy, the technical insight, and the background necessary to mesh with the startup/VC/A&I ecosystem and to help further establish Amazon as the leader in the cloud computing space? Would you like to be key member of the APJC Start Up leadership team, and help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon’s cloud computing platform within the startup communities? Would you like to lead a highly talented team that is focused on increasing the adoption of the AWS platform across ASEAN startup communities?

As the ASEAN Head of Startup Business Development, you will own the overall business development strategy for startups in ASEAN. This will require close collaboration with the AJPC AWS leadership teams, as well as with the AWS Service Teams, Field Enablement Teams, and Global BD Teams. Close partnership with leaders and organizations outside of your immediate team will be necessary as you will build an overall structured approach and experience for business development. Other than shaping and delivering on a strategy to build the mindshare and broaden the use of AWS in the startup communities, you will lead a team and guide them to 1) own and manage relationships with the venture capitalist (VC), Accelerators and Incubators (A&I) community, and influence decision making towards utilizing Amazon Web Services as the basis for their portfolio companies’ infrastructure, 2) identify appropriate VCs/A&Is to target, and drive the necessary business and technical relationships with the VC/A&Is and their portfolio companies to establish new business in those accounts, 3) work closely with the AWS sales team to drive the day-to-day interactions with the portfolio companies in order to build long-term business opportunity, and 4) establish the necessary field mechanisms that help accelerate the AWS innovation flywheel.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Set a strategic business development plan for the ASEAN market and ensure it is in line with the AWS strategic direction
- Lead and manage the ASEAN Startup Business Development team
- Lead and enable the ASEAN Startup Business Development team to drive new market development efforts by working with leaders across partner, service, product development and sales teams
- Work with the other APJC BD Leaders to define and help execute on broader market development strategies
- Develop, in partnership with the Global Startup Business Development teams, strategic priorities and long-term plans for the organization
- Develop strong, productive relationships across peer organization that further our business objectives
- Define goals processes and drive monthly updates against those goals
- Develop long-term strategic partnerships in support of our key customers
- Own and deliver business reviews to the APJC and Global business development teams regarding the overall business development strategy execution
- MBA or equivalent relevant business experience
- Experience with and knowledge of the Venture Capital, Accelerators and Incubators community
- Passionate about Startups and should be a regular at key startup events
- Passionate about Technology with solid knowledge about cloud and technology trends
- Solid negotiation skills, and business and financial acumen
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations is key
