
Commercial Manager, Asia

Due to expansion within Asia, they are seeking a Commercial Manager to manage and promote the sales of niobium products. This includes but is not limited to developing and maintaining customer relations, customer credit management, market analyses and supporting market development efforts.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**COMMERCIAL MANAGER, SINGAPORE**
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and maintain customer accounts for all niobium products.
- Sales forecasting derived from customer relationships and market knowledge.
- Total market analysis based on product end use throughout the supply chain. This analysis is to enable the market development team to focus efforts on projects with best potential returns
- Customer credit management and control. The responsibility here is to monitor customer credit ratings and receivables balances to maintain proper credit risks to the company.
- Import analysis and interpretation. The responsibility is to monitor and understand competitor imports into Asia. This allows the company to anticipate threats and opportunities to pursue the proper commercial actions to maintain and increase market share.
- To prospect and develop new customers and negotiate commercial terms.
- Customer assessment to identify opportunities of technical development.
- To follow up market trends, identify opportunities, threats to the operation.
**Requirements**:
It is needed to understand the steel business and an established network within companies, trading houses and ferro-alloys producers. This position covers a very vast territory, it is important to understand the different cultures and negotiation practices in different countries. The same goes for commercial practices, incoterms and general terms and conditions that are common in this market segment.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, experience, skill, and abilities required.
**Desired Qualifications and Experience**
- More than 12 years of experience in sales with at least 5 of those years focusing on international sales
- Excellent levels of customer service experience within international marketplaces
- Familiarity with the steel industry and ferroalloys market specific characteristics
- A track record of doing business with steel producers in Japan, South Korea, India, and Southeast Asia
- Previous usage of SAP, CRM, and project management tools
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and relationship building skills
- Driven to succeed and renowned for strategic business thinking and solution-focused approach
- Ability to deliver market development strategies
- Highly numerate and able to formulate and monitor budgets and targets
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to write clear and objective reports and business correspondences
- Ability to effectively support, present information and respond to requests from managers, colleagues, partners, representatives, and customers.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills to be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- High level of computer literacy in MS Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
**Additional attributes**
- Experience on international sales of raw materials for steelmaking, ferroalloys, and related consumables for steelmaking industry
- Experience on international sales for finished steel products
- Able to deliver presentations of the differentiated company products and technology program strategy to existing customers, as well as potential consumers of ferroalloys, such as steel makers with potential to develop high strength steels with value-added properties
- Highly capable in evaluating market scenarios and forecasts to identify opportunities and further market developments, not only with the direct consumers of raw materials, but also interacting with the supply-chain of steel intensive segments, such as automotive, energy, construction, aerospace, and home appliances

- Post-graduate qualification in Metallurgy, Engineering or an MBA
