**About the Role**

Public Sector Solutions are Swiss Re's team dedicated to leading and managing business across the full breadth of the Group's activities that is placed with Governments and other public sector entities. This role is the team lead of Public Sector Solutions team in all Asia markets except China and is responsible for representations and commitments made by his/her team on Swiss Re’s behalf. It reports to the Regional Lead, Public Sector Solutions APAC.

In this role, you will lead a team of highly-motivated professionals in Asia ex China to engage with governments (at sovereign and sub-sovereign levels), state-owned enterprises (SOEs), sovereign wealth funds (SWFs), development banks, export credit agencies (ECAs), multilateral organizations and 'third sector' entities / NGOs to offer risk analytics and risk transfer solutions, facilitate economic development and increase insurance protection and financial inclusion. You will develop business by working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams in Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions, IptiQ, and Group Functions such as Alternative Capital Partners, Group Digital and Technology Transformation, Asset Management and the Swiss Re Institute.
- Lead a team of professionals to develop and execute a profitable growth strategy, including action plans and financial targets, for the public sector in target markets (including responsibilities for team performance management and career development)
- Approach and interact with national and state governments (sovereign and sub-sovereign levels), SOEs, SWFs and their investee companies, ECAs, development banks and organizations, and NGOs to understand their risk analysis and financing needs and advise them on their contingent liabilities and risk transfer options
- Manage internal cross-functional deal teams to bring transactions over the finishing line
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Swiss Re's enabling think tanks, insurance and tech partners, to deliver together holistic solutions to state governments and other public entities/institutions
- Raise and maintain the profile of Swiss Re as industry thought leader with deep risk insight expertise, particularly of great relevance for the public sector
- Develop and execute other strategic initiatives in the region as required

**About the Team**

Governments and other public sector entities are becoming increasingly aware of the various risks they absorb as explicit or implicit risk takers. Consequently, more and more public sector entities are exploring ways to manage these risks more efficiently by using risk mitigation and risk transfer mechanisms. This provides Swiss Re with a substantial opportunity for expansion across both the P&C and L&H segments, and business development with the public sector is an important element of Swiss Re's high growth markets strategy.

Public Sector Solutions (PSS) aims at creating business opportunities with the public sector by systematically approaching governments on national and sub-national levels, SOEs, SWFs, ECAs, NGOs and development banks and organizations in a coordinated way across the Group. We advise on reducing the contingent liabilities of governments through protecting public sector assets and entities themselves, through making Swiss Re risk insights platforms and tools available to public sector clients, by introducing insurance schemes such as risk sharing pools and through developing (micro-) insurance products to accelerate financial inclusion across all segments of the population. We support the financing and de-risking of sustainable infrastructure projects, promote nature-based solutions, contribute to decarbonization strategies for critical sectors (with mitigation and adaptation objectives) - and underpin all these activities with the Swiss Re Group's market-leading risk insights, tech capabilities, (re)insurance capacity, and risk transformation skills for capital market access.

**About You**
- Very client focused and persistent, you know how to turn customer needs into transactions. Understanding and addressing the needs of the public sector is at the core of the proposed approach
- More than 10 years of experience in the insurance/ risk management market is a must
- Ambition to build and expand interfaces to governments, SOEs, SWFs, NGOs and development banks by leveraging your well-established network
- Successful track record of building up a business, ideally in the East Asia or Southeast Asia region
- Very good understanding of at least one of the main risks (agricultural production, natural catastrophes, life & health, infrastructure) and the corresponding risk transfer products, and are keen to become a smart originator for the entire suite of risks and products that are relevant for the public sector
- Excellence in driving the follow-up and transaction management
- A results-proven track record of exceeding goals; evidence of the ability to consistently make
