**Position: Head of Trading (Precious Metals, Ex-China) Bank: [Top China Bank]
**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

- Ensure the trading desk operates in full compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry best practices.
- Obtain and maintain all necessary licenses and certifications required for precious metals trading in the relevant jurisdictions.

Desk Setup and Scale:

- Establish and develop a robust and efficient precious metals trading desk outside of China.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to set up the necessary infrastructure, trading systems, and technologies required for smooth operations.
- Ensure the desk's scalability to handle increased trading volumes and expanding market presence.

Trading Strategy and Execution:

- Develop and implement effective trading strategies for precious metals, taking into account market trends, geopolitical factors, and global economic conditions.
- Lead and execute trades in precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, palladium, etc.) across international markets to maximize profitability and minimize risk.

Team Leadership:

- Build and lead a high-performing trading team capable of executing the bank's precious metals strategy.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to traders, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Risk Management:

- Manage and monitor trading risks, implementing appropriate risk controls and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Conduct thorough market analysis and risk assessments to identify potential opportunities and threats.

IT for Trade Execution:

- Work closely with the bank's IT department to establish a cutting-edge front-end for trade execution in the precious metals trading desk.
- Implement user-friendly and efficient trading platforms and tools to facilitate seamless trade execution and enhance the trading team's productivity. Ensure the front-end complies with the latest security standards and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
- At least 10-15 years of progressive experience in precious metals trading, with a focus on international markets and a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience in successfully setting up and scaling trading desks for precious metals or related commodities.
- Strong knowledge of global precious metals markets, including market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and geopolitical influences.
- Familiarity with risk management practices and the ability to make informed decisions based on market analysis.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve business objectives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant trading platforms and technologies.
