**Senior Associate Hydraulic Engineer**

As our new Senior Associate Hydraulic Engineer, you will be part of the Ramboll Water team. You will join an interdisciplinary engineering team and work along landscape architects, urban designers, transport engineers, structural engineers, energy specialists and work on sustainable projects in the Asia Pacific region and beyond. As the Principal Hydraulic Engineer specializing in climate adaptation strategies and urban water systems design, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing innovative solutions to address the challenges posed by climate change on urban water infrastructure. You will lead a team of engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing sustainable strategies, designing resilient water systems, and ensuring the long-term viability of our communities. You will be part of our Water team, delivering and managing innovative and sustainable design solutions for a wide range of developments through our multidisciplinary expertise in master planning, urban design and climate adaptation.

**You will join our Water Infrastructure and Climate Adaptation department**

You will be part of our dynamic team working across the Asia Pacific (APAC) for private, public and International Financial Institution (IFI) clients. The department is anchored in Ramboll Water’s global division for Climate Adaptation. Together with the team and the global division of Climate Adaptation, you will deliver high quality projects in line with Ramboll’s standards in a working environment based on enjoyment, empowerment and added value for clients through close cooperation.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

- Lead the development and implementation of climate adaptation strategies for urban water systems, considering climate change impacts, such as extreme weather events, sea-level rise, and changing precipitation patterns.
- Design and optimize hydraulic systems for urban water infrastructure, including stormwater management, flood protection, water supply, and wastewater systems.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing water systems, identifying vulnerabilities and proposing innovative solutions to enhance resilience and sustainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, urban planners, environmental scientists, and municipal stakeholders, to integrate hydraulic engineering principles into urban design projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality project deliverables.
- Conduct research and stay abreast of advancements in hydraulic engineering, climate adaptation strategies, and urban water system design to enhance our capabilities and provide cutting-edge solutions.
- Prepare and review engineering reports, feasibility studies, design drawings, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to communicate project goals, obtain necessary approvals, and foster strong relationships.
- Collaborate with business development teams to identify and pursue new opportunities in climate adaptation and urban water systems design.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree in Hydraulic Engineering or a similar discipline is preferred.
- Extensive experience **(minimum 12 years)** in hydraulic engineering, specializing in urban water systems design, with a focus on climate adaptation strategies.
- Proven track record of leading and successfully delivering complex hydraulic engineering projects, including climate adaptation initiatives and urban water system designs for public and private sector clients.
- Experience in Asia Pacific region is preferred.
- Experience working on International Financial Institutional and/or development projects (e.g. World Bank, ADB) in the region will be of advantage
