**Job Description - Sales Associate, Global Sales Desk**
A sales role within the CME Group’s Singapore office, working in a global team responsible for establishing new relationships in addition to servicing mid-tier clients utilizing CME Group's products and services.
This role is within the Client Development and Sales (CD&S) organization and will be reporting directly into the Head of Global Sales Desk. As part of CD&S, the Sales Associate will follow all CD&S processes including but not limited to sales campaign participation, cross referral and cross selling activities, CRM reporting activities, sales pipeline management, and other sales initiatives. To achieve their goals the Sales Associate will work closely with other CME Group stakeholders in particular the Business Line Management and the Segment Sales teams.
**The position will be responsible for**:
- Proactively engaging with and reactively responding to existing and prospective clients including hedge funds, asset managers, commercials, proprietary trading firms and corporate firms. Core goal is to increase client adoption of CME Group products and services
- Serve as the primary point of contact for development of New Client opportunities in the APAC region, leveraging sales segments where appropriate
- Responding to client queries relating to CME group products and services, developing, and nurturing high value opportunities from inception through to maturity
- Work closely with Marketing for qualification of leads generated from marketing outreach and sales campaigns
- Generate independent sales leads, using tools such as LinkedIn and Bloomberg, financial media, and other industry lists, identifying whitespace and proactively work through these targets through cold calling or messaging
- Ensure global coordination with Global Sales desks in other regions to ensure client activities are followed through to resolution in a timely manner
- Developing an understanding of all the CME business lines to help facilitate cross product development and enhance cross sell opportunities
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Sales and/or client facing experience (1-2 years) within the B2B financial services industry
- Demonstrate a good understanding of financial markets, trading and hedging using derivatives products
- Demonstrate ability to cold call and work independently to generate brand new business
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively within a team, excellent telephone manner with both verbal and written skills
- Ability to prioritize, manage, and diligently execute on responsibilities to meet or exceed both individual and shared team objectives
- Analytical mindset is a plus - ability to analyze information, identify problems and trends, and solve complex problem
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Bloomberg, Tableau and SQL databases is a plus
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) preferably in Business, Finance, Commerce, or related field
- Additional spoken languages, apart from English, advantageous but not essential
