Office of Health and Safety (OHS) champions health and safety management in NTU. OHS manages a number of university level health and safety programmes such as biosafety, chemical, radiation, electrical, training, auditing, amongst others. OHS is also responsible for establishing frameworks and systems that will support the promotion and sharing of best practices in safety and health among Colleges/Schools/Research Centres and Departments in the University.
**Responsibilities**:
- Formulate, implement, and evaluate new and existing policies, programmes and services for building safety and health culture among the NTU community and supporting compliance to relevant regulations- Conduct safety and health training to faculty, staff and students- Manage and lead the School and Department Health and Safety Team in developing and implementing their safety and health management systems- Manage IT systems related to health and safety management- Secretariat to institutional safety and health committees- Provide advice to stakeholders such as management, staff and students on workplace safety and health issues and ways to minimise or eliminate risks and hazards- Liaise with governmental bodies and regulatory agencies- Conduct audits and inspections of offices, research laboratories and their supporting facilities- Conduct investigations for accidents and incidents that takes place in offices & laboratory-based faculties/research institutes with the safety committee members- Conduct data analytics on key health and safety indicators
**Requirements**:
- A recognized degree in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental) or Public Health- Experience in workplace safety in offices & laboratory-based faculties/research institutes- At least 3 years of relevant experience in Safety & Health Management, preferably at the corporate or institutional level- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) would be advantageous- Good communication and writing skills- Independent, meticulous and reliable- Able to multitask under given timeline
