We are partnering with a leading, global food and beverage company who are seeking a Global Ocean Freight Director to join their growing team.

Reporting into the VP of Global Import & Export, you will oversee the coordination and development of ocean freight operations globally.

**Responsibilities;**
- Act as the team's leader to produce cost reduction, increased revenue, and superior customer service.
- Establish a worldwide point of contact for ocean freight escalation for sectors working with brokers, freight forwarders, port authorities, and carriers to resolve issues while balancing cost, service, compliance, and other KPIs.
- Manage ocean freight optimization across the organisation in collaboration with the supply chain and procurement divisions.
- Create and manage KPIs, industry benchmarks, and standards for ocean freight management globally.
- Drive productivity increases from import-export through cost transformation and build specific plans for future improvement.
- Proactively measure and manage ocean freight capacity internationally, engaging with procurement, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and various sector representatives.
- Responsible for ensuring that all import-export cargoes are supported at the best possible prices by managing worldwide ocean capacity in conjunction with the procurement, supply chain, and financial divisions.
- Ensure operational continuity across all sectors by defining the proper international logistic strategy for ocean freight shipments to achieve the best service delivery, transit time, and cost.
- Produce cost savings and reductions through the optimization of maritime freight trade routes, international logistic routes, modes of transportation, customs borders, carriers, and brokers, as well as lowering detention, demurrages, delays, and storages.
- Examine all import
- and export-related activities worldwide to look for potential to optimise ocean freight in collaboration with other departments.
- Develop a near
- and long-term data and technology enablement strategy for ocean freight visibility and optimization.
- Actively recommend and collaborate on opportunities for ocean freight optimization that have been identified.

**Skills Required;**
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or applicable degree
- 8-12 years of experience in operations or transportation (ocean, air, international logistics)
- Ability to drive large transformational change
- Proficient in Lean Six Sigma, Agile, and APICS
- Experience managing large-scale projects
- Experience directly leading cross-functional competencies, people, and teams
- Strong track record of developing capabilities and scaling sustained operations resulting in long-term growth
- Additional languages are advantageous
