**Accountabilities**:

- Key focus areas include global procurement of ocean freight & capacity, trade lane and ocean product development, spot pricing, solutions enabling business development, supplier relationship management and competitive tender responses as well as lowest cost solutions for the company.
- (Ocean products includes FCL, LCL & ocean-related transportation services)
- (Global includes Oceania, Asia, Middle East, Europe, USA, Africa)
- Foster positive vendor relationships and manage performance, ensuring contract compliance and positive cost development.
- **Procurement of all ocean related services**:

- Work with Regional and Country Managers to manage ocean contract negotiations Cultivate & maintain carrier relationships at senior levels
- Procure pricing and service requirements in line with customer’s demands to meet service level and customer’s expectations.
- Communicate & collaborate closely with Global Forwarding regional & country teams to deliver market-leading price & service options for customers
- Manage relationships with LCL co-loaders as well as price & service negotiations for all LCL services
- Manage external vendors of pricing tools (tariff publication, contract management, etc.) Implement supplier relationship management with structured quarterly business reviews

- **Manage product yield and profitability**:

- Work with Regional and Country Managers to measure and drive improved yield and profitability across the ocean product
- Assist in the development and implementation of tools and KPI’s to improve yield management and productivity
- **Maintain and improve customer service experience**:

- Oversee carrier performance in conjunction with Country Management
- Address supplier’s underperformance with clearly defined corrective action plans
- Assist in the development and implementation of tools and KPIs for customer service quality management
- **Capacity management & planning**:

- Leverage global volumes and carrier relationships to ensure sufficient capacity throughout the year through the coordination with Global Logistics & Forwarding and Operational Excellence teams.
- Implementation of customer-specific allocations, in conjunction with internal stakeholders, to ensure space and equipment availability in response to business demands
- **Sales & New Business Development**:

- Assist in the closing of new ocean business opportunities together with Sales Participate in quarterly business reviews with top customers
- Provide regular market insight & suggest innovative new solutions to customers Identify Ocean Freight growth opportunities - new customers, new markets
- Create tools to help promote the company’s ocean products
- Define corrective actions with sales organization to reach agreed targets and carrier commitments
- **Team Leadership**:

- Provide leadership in seafreight space to a small existing, experienced team.
