Care Corner Singapore Ltd was founded in 1981, in a climate of changes in the early 1980s, as economic competition in the region intensified and the rift between the wealthy and the lower-income in particular the Chinese blue-collar workers, widened. Rev Tan Tien Ser and a group of passionate individuals believed that these marginalised people with lower income and little opportunities for a formal education could be helped to realise their potential and become more competent and fulfilled persons. Through a series of early outreach initiatives, Care Corner has evolved into an organisation offering a wide range of programmes and services delivered through various social service centres located island-wide. In a bid to stay relevant to the needs of the community, Care Corner has continuously strived to offer new and innovative programmes to support those in need and the less privileged.

DESIGNATION : Tech Lead

RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Innovation Squad is an in-house team that works in close collaboration with our business groups to design and build services and digital products for social impact. You will be working closely with a Design Lead, Product Lead and Organisational Development Lead, as part of an experienced group of experts bringing in new capabilities and ways of working. You will be part of one of the first teams in Singapore to use tech, design, product management and OD, to solve for the most complex social issues and bring about meaningful change.

**What does a Tech Lead do?**

As a Tech Lead, you build the systems that we need and make sure they work.

What this looks like in the day-to-day:

- Build prototypes to demonstrate technological opportunities and get buy-in
- Design and communicate system architectures
- Drive development and deployment with a team of engineers from vendors or offshore teams
- Ensure designs meet the necessary security and privacy requirements
- Lead technical design reviews and ensure systems are designed to meet their requirements
- Keep abreast on latest trends and propose how these technologies can be adapted in our solutions

**Who we are looking for**:

- You’re a creative individual with deep technological expertise, business acumen and software development background. You’re endlessly curious and quickly grasp and understand a wide variety of software environments and solutions
- At least 8 years of work experience, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in full stack development (prior work and personal projects count for much more than specific degrees)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively influence business and tech partners, peers and senior management
- Proactive, has a strong drive to get things done and the tenacity to push for change
- Can work effectively within a cross-functional team

Overall, we're looking for someone with the ability and experience, the initiative to push for change, and a passion to bring care to vulnerable communities in Singapore.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Computer Science and related fields.
