Finance, Accounts, Payroll and General Cashier
**JOB PURPOSE**:
The Accounts Officer (GC/Payroll) is responsible for managing the Hotels’ General Cashier’s bank to ensure that bank funds are accurately accounted for and to assist the Paymaster in day-to-day operations.
**PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
1. **General Cashier Duties**
- Collection and counting of all cashiers’ remittance envelopes daily.
- Receive all checks and cash recorded on the Daily Check List and issue Official Receipt
- Prepare and made bank deposit and cash position statement
- Summarizes cash sales and collections and prepare General Cashier’s Daily Report
- Maintain adequate supply of changes for cashiers.
- Maintaining accurate control of Petty Cash Float, handle petty cash payment and prepare statements for weekly reimbursement, provide coding for the respective items into General Ledger
- To conduct monthly spot-checks and count Cashiers’ floats.
- To supervise the overall performance of Front Office and F&B cash.
- Provide assistance to Cashiers in handling cash transactions, all cashiers’ daily changes including extra change for long weekends and special occasions, reimburse cashiers for due backs remitted by Cashier in the event of Cash Recycling Machine breakdown.
- Provide assistance on queries with regards on the Cash Recycling Machine and to ensure that the machine is running smoothly on a daily basis. In situation of breakdown, General Cashier to liaise with the maintenance company for repairs.
- All standard reports are printed on a timely basis
2. **Payroll Duties**
- Ensure that Casual Labour Cash Payout tallies with the Payment Voucher and amount used from the Cash Recycling Machine.
- To assist with payroll matters and perform Payroll processing in the absence of Paymaster.
