The Assistant Chinese cuisine Chef is a key role in ensuring guest come back regularly to enjoy the taste of the food & quality **Fork n Spoon **. He/she will be responsible for serving food to guest on-time & good quality. The job reports to the Executive Chef of the restaurant.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist head chef in preparing recipe for new menu items.
- Assist head chef in planning, preparing, and cooking Chinese dishes in the menu (main and special/promotion dishes).
- Quality inspection for all food items supplied by the vendor or bought from the market place.
- Receipt & storage of food items received from suppliers.
- Plan raw material inventory
- Maintain raw material safety stock & minim stock quantity.
- Assist Executive Chef in purchasing raw materials.
- Comply with SFA & NEA food & safety guidelines.
- Maintain kitchen equipment in working condition.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, food quality, and food hygiene.
- Assist in planning for menus and recipes with the Executive Chef
**Key Requirements**:
- 2-3 years of working experience in a restaurant cooking Chinese/Indo Chinese cuisine under a head chef.
- Excellent team player and good English & Mandarin communication skills.
- Ability to work in multi
- cuisine kitchen & restaurant environment.
- Experience in western cooking is an added advantage.
**Qualifications / Skills**:
- Demonstrated knowledge of culinary techniques and practices.
- Understanding of menu and recipe development techniques
- High school degree or equivalent / Formal culinary training certification
