
Assistant Manager, Asia Creative Writing Programme

The NAC-NTU Asia Creative Writing Programme (the “ACWP”) is a partnership programme between the National Arts Council (NAC) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) that aims to provide a strong foundation to promising writers emerging from the enrolled student population and to support the creative practice of the existing literary talent pool outside of educational institutions. It also aims to promote intercultural understanding via literary translation, literary discourse, and creative exchange among writers writing in Singapore’s four official languages. Top international and local writers will be appointed as writers-in-residence (WIRs) to deliver creative writing modules and workshops for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the Nanyang Technological University and the National Institute of Education, as well as executive/continuing education programmes for non-enrolled writers.
The Assistant Manager reports to the Assistant Director of the NAC-NTU Asia Creative Writing Programme and supports the programme’s operations in meeting the programme’s priorities and targets.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage the day-to-day operational activities of the programme and assist with administration of the programme including assistance with human resources and finance processes including Purchasing using the Ariba system and hiring work study students.- Build and manage the programme’s social media channels and web site and organise the creation of content for marketing.- Assist with event management, logistics and organisation of conferences, readings, NTU/NAC writer-in-residence activities, and outreach activities.- Assist and support writers-in-residence and management of venues and accommodation, including inspection, hiring of venue and leasing of accommodation which involves working with venue providers on agreements and terms, and processing of payments with NTU Finance using Ariba.- Organise regular meetings with the NAC Literary Arts team, advisory committee members from the literary community and NTU faculty.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in arts management, business, communications or related fields.- At least 2 years of working experience including a minimum of 1 year of experience in the planning, monitoring and implementation of social media marketing as well as strategy.- Excellent written, oral and digital communication skills.- Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work across multiple projects and competing deadlines.- Excellent marketing and social media management skills with proficiency in Facebook, Instagram, twitter and Mailchimp marketing channels.- Strong administrative skills (proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint).- Able to organize events of varying scale.- Resourceful and a self-starter.- Knowledge of the literary arts sector is preferred.
