Market Research and Strategy
- Conducting in-depth and on the ground market research, evaluation surveys, data collection and analysis to investigate the international maritime disputes landscape, markets, and competitors, to develop a full understanding of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks of the business
- Leveraging on market research, to perform a detailed market segmentation and market positioning framework to build a creative, integrated, and multi-channel strategic approach for each specific maritime sector or geographical region
- Developing and proposing strategies, policies or directional improvements to raise SCMA’s profile

Planning and Budgeting
- Planning structured monthly and yearly goals and targets in advance
- Devising and implementing a comprehensive, cohesive, structured and organized pitch and timeline and to achieve desired goals
- Developing yearly marketing budgets and keeping management informed of any deviations
- Devising corrective and improvement measures to ensure performance targets
- Proposing, planning and implementing promotional activities to increase SCMA brand awareness to penetrate key maritime market segments
- Developing and implementing clear measurement yardsticks and reporting timeframes to determine and account for the effectiveness of any implemented strategies or plans

Communications and Marketing
- Managing all general enquiries, corporate affairs, partnerships and event enquiries
- Drafting, editing and designing all marketing materials, visuals, publications, presentations, flyers and brochures customised to suit target audience
- Managing media channels including SCMA website, electronic direct mail, monthly newsletters, LinkedIn, WeChat and other media platforms
- Managing and liaising with designers, printers, advertising vendors and platforms
- Maintenance of the website and liaising with IT provider

Direct Sales
- Meeting, presenting and following up with stakeholders including shipowners, charterers, clubs, shipyards, associations, clubs, insurers, arbitrators and maritime law firms to encourage adoption of SCMA Model Clause in contracts

Promotion, Events, Courses, Members’ Meetings
- Providing opening addresses, emcee duties, moderating of seminars, tradeshows, conferences, talks, webinars and Members’ Meeting
- Planning a structured yearly event calendar in advance to meet objectives
- Leveraging on stakeholders, committees, and partners to assist with speaking, topics, and maritime and arbitration content to attract audiences to events
- Leveraging with other partners/stakeholders to extend reach of publicity, synergizing activities and pooling resources for events, courses, and promotion
- Organizing all event/course logistics, both locally and overseas (where relevant)

Relationship Building
- Maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including governmental bodies, for promotion opportunities
- Developing new relationships and recruiting new members, as well as retaining existing members, for revenue generation

Managing Promotion Committees and Users Council
- Secretariat duties including recording of minutes for the meetings
- Leveraging on expertise of Promotion Committee and demands of Users Council to implement targeted events and promotional campaigns
- Assisting in new members’ appointment and tracking of existing members’ terms.
