**Roles & Responsibilities**
Gaia Foods is seeking a passionate, independent and innovative, Research Scientist,
specializing in Biomaterial sciences, polymer design, development and testing for 3D culture of red meat production. This position involves: Biomaterial design, development, and tesing of the natural polymer based biomaterial.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Design, develop and handle natural or synthetic polymers.
- Identify novel biopolymers from natural sources and test different physical and chemical properties of the same for use in cell culture techniques.
- Planning, Designing and executing of mammalian cell culture to test the ability of the biopolymer to support the growth the cells.
- Book keeping and documentation of all the work in precise details.
- Protocol development for design of novel biopolymers.
- Identification and optimization of tools to characterize polymers.
- Maintain mammalian cells in culture medium including routine media exchange, harvest, and sampling
- Engage with other team members to establish internal and external quality control tests and partners to align with regulations requirements
- Arrange regular meeting with team members to communicate results and data in a
timely and effective manner
- Training and help new jonnies and junior staff or associates
- Other duties as assigned
