Singapore GEOSTOCK ASIA PTE. LTD. Full time

This position is located in the United Arab Emirates. It is part of GEOSTOCK’s on-site team for the Operation & Maintenance of an Oil Terminal with underground cavern storage facilities.

The Corrosion Specialist is responsible for all the operations required to guarantee the integrity of the casings, frameworks and other underground equipment set up in the operating shafts. His activities are mainly focused on water quality and corrosion monitoring.

The Corrosion Specialist is in charge of:

- All technical tasks on site required to achieve caverns technical monitoring (in coordination with remote monitoring specialist based in GEOSTOCK head office) for:

- Water quality monitoring in sumps and operating shafts
- Corrosion monitoring for underground equipment
- Gathering, analysis and first interpretation of all field parameters required for the execution of monitoring plans previously defined,
- Technical management of subcontractors involved in the cavern monitoring such as cathodic protection company, laboratories for water analysis,
- Organization and supervision for injection of chemicals for water treatment if required,
- Perform on-site inspections for corrosion monitoring as defined in the dedicated monitoring plans,
- Definition and follow up of water quality monitoring program in coordination with GEOSTOCK remote services,
- Definition and follow up of corrosion monitoring program for operating shaft equipment in coordination with GEOSTOCK remote services,
- Definition and supervision of specific casing inspection program with specialized company (contracted by the OPERATOR),
- Alert the Oil Terminal Cavern Operation Manager and propose corrective and preventive action plans in case of any deviations observed with respect to the normal expected water quality and/or corrosion rates.

**PROFILE**

**Qualifications**

Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, preferably with qualification in corrosion engineering of underground facilities.

**Experience**

At least 8 years of experience in corrosion monitoring and prevention of facilities in Oil & Gas industry.

**Languages**

Fluent English

**Other**

Strong awareness of HSE requirements,
