Pricing and Tender Manager

This role is part of the Global Logistics which is a Global portfolio and is focussed on the design and delivery of standardised, global commercial best practices that maximize sales growth & profitable revenue, including programs to consistently improve pricing, salesforce effectiveness, sector & segment focus, product mix, customer selection and focus, and supplier management. This role is responsible for delivering enabling services towards generating $1 Billion in new external business revenue.
The primary function of this position encompasses:
**Revenue Growth Enabler - Pricing & Tender Management**
- Formulate competitive end to end pricing and global tender management including modelling & analysis (all modes of transport).
- Manage customer tender process - RFI / RFQ / RFP / e-Action / Spot quote, working closely with the Global Sales Team, Product/Route Management, various VGF own and Network offices globally.
- Support all sales channels (Global, Regional, Country) with end-to-end pricing solutions. Work with Product/Route Management, develop, implement, and maintain (route-specific) pricing strategies and minimum rate guidelines (in Quotation management module) for countries to follow in ensuring best offerings that benefit business growth, improved revenue, and margins.
**Margin Optimisation & Transparency (Customers & Suppliers)**
- Provide post-tender/quote outcome analysis for management review.
Challenge and validate the proposed local solutions from overseas country operations.
Insights - Provide market rate benchmarking for key trade lanes. Recognise and report on pricing and market trends and developments.
Margin protection - analyse contract performance against VID, loading factor vs allocation commitment, loss making lanes (investment).
**Governance & Risk Management (Customers & Suppliers)**
- Quotation Management Module - Master data management and Minimum Rate Guidelines accuracy & maintenance (including surcharges and GRI’s).
- Customer contract management - clarification regarding disputes on rates, capacity commitments.
- Accuracy and compliance with customer requirements and commercial strategy defined by Product/Route Management and the General Manager
