We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Head of MAS Reporting and Compliance.**

**Principal Responsibilities**

The role holder will be involved in the financial operations of HSBC Life (Singapore) Pte. Limited as well as various ad hoc projects.

He/she will work closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders including the CFO, Financial Controller, actuaries, Group stakeholders, onshore and offshore teams and other finance functions as well as personnel from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to ensure that all reporting requirements are met to the highest standards and within the strict deadlines imposed by MAS and internally.
- Managing a team to close the monthly financials
- Manage financial reporting/returns to local regulator or trade organisations in compliance with its regulation
- Assist in preparation of annual statutory accounts and tax returns submission including GST submission
- Assist with finance operations including month end closing process, ensure accounts are controlled effectively and accounting entries are posted correctly, investigate exceptions in accounts and ensure timely escalation and rectification
- To lead and coordinate amongst the finance teams for MAS assurance review
- Safeguard the company from loss of reporting misstatement and deficiency in operation
- Handle internal and external audits and assurance reviews
- Responsible for maintaining documentation, reviewing and updating standard operating procedures
- Produce and analyse ad hoc management information requests
- Ensure ongoing seamless service delivery of reports to various stakeholders at agreed service levels
- Identify opportunities for process re-engineering / improvement and participate in change initiatives including system automation
- Keeping up to date with financial and regulatory reporting requirements
- Ability to meet timelines while maintain a high degree of accuracy and quality
- Maintaining proper internal control in compliance with SOX and HSBC group policies
- Pro-active approach in highlighting issues for timely resolution
- Provide support to deliver efficient and effective financial reporting and control
Requirements
- University degree in accounting or a related discipline, with a recognized professional accounting qualification an advantage
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in financial reporting in insurance or similar experience in auditing of financial institutions in big 4 auditing firms
- Sound knowledge on MAS regulation
- Strong self-motivation, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
- Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
