**JOB DESCRIPTION**
Job title: Baggage Specialist
Reporting to: Duty Manager (Baggage)
Grade: GE 4
**Overall Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Duty Manager (Baggage), you are responsible to supervise baggage operations and provide support to the Baggage Service Crew
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Ensure staff are properly deployed at the departure racetracks, arrival belts and transfer line according to the ETAs and STDs
- Conduct checks and advise any Late ETAs or delayed STDs and adjust the manpower accordingly
- Ensure all bags are 100% reconciled and tallies for BRS and non-BRS flights
- Ensure sufficient trolleys and containers are positioned at respective racetrack in preparation for the flight
- Ensure checks at minus 30 minutes and 15 minutes of ETD of a flight to ensure no last-minute baggage is left behind
- Investigate delays, mishandling, discrepancies, complaints flight omission and (or) any flights related irregularity and reports to Duty Manager for appropriate follow-up action
- Ensure all Baggage Unit’s equipment’s are properly maintained and records accurately logged
- Investigate and report all staff matters to superior (e.g. staff reporting late for work, medical leave, AWOL etc)
- Ensure all BRS Scanners & Walkie Talkies are handled with care and records accurately logged
- Ensure safety procedures and handling requirements are strictly complied by operational staff
- Maintain daily records of Baggage Mishandling figures
- Enforce staff discipline and deals with staff issues
- Perform any other related duty for which he is detailed to do so by his superior
**Key Attributes**:
