**Position Summary**:
The Youth Worker will play a crucial role in implementing Resilient Minds programs within secondary schools, working closely with at-risk students to provide guidance, support, and a positive, trusting environment. This role involves direct engagement with students, facilitating group activities, providing one-on-one mentorship, and collaborating with school staff to support each student's emotional, social, and academic growth.

**Working Hours**:

- Secondary school in central
- 1 session per week (26th February - 23rd November 2025)
- Wednesday, 3pm - 5pm only
- $35-$50 per hourly, based on experience
- 2 youth workers (1 for lower sec, 1 for upper sec)

**Key Responsibilities**:
The Services required are set out as follows:
**(i) Secondary One and Two Gear-Up programme**must achieve the following objectives:

- Help students connect their school life with a vision of their future possible selves to develop intrinsic motivation.
- Provide upstream early intervention to strengthen students’ ecosystem and social emotional skills
- Equip students with effective study strategies that are applicable in their academic pursuits and beyond, fostering a foundation for lifelong learning.
- Cultivateresilienceandapositiveattitudetowards challenges, enabling students to embrace learning as a continuous process of improvement.
- Enable students to acquire essential self-management skills, such as time management, emotional regulation, and goal-setting, through engaging activities.
- Encourages students to form meaningful bonds with their peers, promoting collaboration, teamwork, and mutual support through group work.
- ProvidecoherenceandcontinuitybetweenSecondary One and Secondary Two students’ development

**Secondary Three Gear-Up programme**must achieve the following objectives:

- Students will build on their school core values which include passion, excellence, integrity, respect, care and empathy.
- Students will build a better sense of self-worth and respect towards peers and adults.
- Students will exercise duty of responsibility and care to themselves, their families and school.
- Students will build emotional strength and resilience in the face of challenges.
- Students will be able to develop healthy identities, recognize and self-regulate their emotions.
- Students will be able to show empathy to others, relate to others and develop positive relationships.
- Students will be able to develop into good team players, make responsible decisions, and act for the good of self, others and the school / local community.
- Training sessions conducted should include outdoor experiential learning activities.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- A tertiary qualification in counselling/psychology/social work, or relevant experience and expertise.
- All Youth Workers should be able to engage and motivate the students in acquiring knowledge and skills via hands-on approach and be skilled in facilitation.
- He/ she should have a passion and disposition for working with at-risk students and their families, and a positive belief in their potential.

All Youth Workers should be competent to handle the tasks and responsibilities assigned.
