As a General Manager of a yacht charter business in Singapore, your primary responsibility will oversee all aspects of the business operations, including sales, marketing, customer service, yacht maintenance, crew management, and financial management. Your duties may include the following:
1. Sales and Marketing: Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones. You will need to establish relationships with yacht brokers, travel agents, and other industry professionals to increase the visibility of your business. You may also need to attend trade shows, boat shows, and other events to promote your yacht charter services.
2. Customer Service: Ensure that your customers have an exceptional experience from start to finish. This includes responding to inquiries, managing reservations, coordinating with captains and crew, and ensuring that the yacht is prepared for each charter. You will need to build strong relationships with customers to generate repeat business and positive word-of-mouth.
3. Yacht Maintenance: Ensure that all yachts in your fleet are well-maintained and meet safety standards. This will involve scheduling regular maintenance and repairs, overseeing the work of mechanics and technicians, and ensuring that all necessary equipment is in good working order.
4. Crew Management: Hire, train, and manage a team of captains, crew members, and other staff. You will need to ensure that all crew members are properly trained and certified, and that they are providing excellent service to your customers.
5. Financial Management: Manage the financial aspects of the business, including budget planning, forecasting, and expense management. You will need to work closely with the accounting department to ensure that financial records are accurate and up-to-date, and that the business is operating within its budget.
6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that your yacht charter business complies with all relevant regulations and laws, including safety regulations, licensing requirements, and tax laws.
7. Business Development: Develop and implement strategies for growing the business, such as expanding your fleet, entering into partnerships with other businesses, or exploring new markets.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the yacht charter industry. You should also have a solid understanding of business operations, financial management, and marketing strategies. A degree in business, hospitality, or a related field and 10 years experience in a similar role.
