Cloud Data Engineer, Professional Services, Google

Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 10 years of experience in technical consulting
- Experience in architecting and writing database or analytics code (e.g., data pipelines) and scripts in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Go, etc.)
- Experience in designing and maintaining internet facing data backends in distributed, virtualized, or containerized environments

Preferred qualifications:

- 7 years of experience managing customer/client-facing big data consulting projects to completion and managing technical delivery
- Experience working with data warehouses, including data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures
- Experience with non-relational platforms and tools for large-scale data processing (e.g., information retrieval, data mining, or machine learning)
- Experience architecting and developing software or internet scale production-grade big data solutions in distributed environments

**About the job**:
In this role, you will work directly with Google’s strategic customers on critical analytics projects that ingest, store, process, analyze, and explore/visualize data on the Google Cloud Platform.

You'll work on data migrations and transformational projects and collaborate with customers to design large-scale data processing systems, develop data pipelines optimized for scalability, reliability and machine learning, and troubleshoot potential platform issues during customer engagements. You will be working with client program owners, architects, and key technical leaders to bring solutions on Google Cloud Platform to life.

You will work closely with Google partners, to deliver joint consulting services, providing technical guidance and best infrastructure practices. You will also work closely with Product Management and Engineering to build and constantly drive excellence in our products. In this role, you are the Google Architect working with Google Cloud's strategic Enterprise and Digital Native customers. Together with the team, you will support customer implementation of Google Cloud products through: architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, capacity planning, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and more.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide technical expertise on Google Cloud Platforms’ suite of Big Data technologies including BigQuery, Looker, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Data Fusion, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer, and Data Catalog.
- Design and deliver high-quality solutions including sample code and solve complex technical customer challenges.
- Be a trusted technical advisor to Google’s strategic customers and solve complex Big Data challenges.
- Create and deliver best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders.
- Travel up to 30% in-region for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities.
