Alternative Solutions Senior Underwriter

Alternative Solutions is a department of P&C Solutions. P&C Solutions is a key unit within SCOR P&C which brings technical and underwriting services to the two business units of the Division: Reinsurance and Specialty Insurance. Alternative Solutions provide a wide range of highly sophisticated solutions for the transformation, financing and transfer of (re)insurance risks. The SCOR "Alternative" offering consists in: - Structured (re)insurance contract (multiyear multiline products, retrospective reinsurance, structured quota-share, 2nd event protections,) - Parametric solutions Fronting solutions. Alternative Solutions team members are located in Paris, Zurich, London, New York and Singapore and beneficiate from P&C division support, work closely with other P&C market & reinsurance managers, and have direct contact with clients and brokers to: - Contribute to the achievement of the underwriting plan - Contribute to the overall results of the Group by sound technical and profitable underwriting - Develop SCOR's market share and leadership position - Enhance Group image in the market by efficient and innovative support of client needs Within the Alternative Solutions Business Unit, you are in charge of developing and maintaining the "Alternative" offering to SCOR Reinsurance underwriting teams, clients and brokers with primary focus on APAC. You are also responsible for the profitability of the portfolio you underwrite. You have a role of Senior Underwriter in Structured (Re)Insurance for Alternative Solutions department with a primary focus on APAC Region. This role is based in Singapore and as a team representative for Structured (Re)Insurance, you contribute to the business development and the underwriting of ART underwriting solutions. **Key duties and responsibilities** - Originate, design, evaluate and price offers of non-traditional / alternative deals proposals from various sources and negotiate conditions of the contracts, in coordination with the traditional Reinsurance underwriter, in accordance with the underwriting management guidelines, and in coordination with the pricing department for actuarial support and validation - Manage and renew an existing portfolio of non-traditional / alternative deals currently in place - Promote non-traditional / alternative deals to SCOR clients, brokers and SCOR underwriting teams - Generate new offers and promote the Group by pro-active marketing in accordance with the strategy and guidelines - Respond to all offers in a timely manner - Maintain relationships with clients, brokers and internal stakeholders - Contribute to the deal maintenance, including reporting, reserving and claims settlements in conjunction with the relevant departments - Investigate, analyze existing and new markets in the area and propose new contracts in order to develop the existing portfolio - Contribute to the technical knowledge of non-traditional solutions - Ideally a minimum of 2 years work experience on "alternative risk transfer" in an international environment, additional reinsurance experience a plus - Proven underwriting skills (marketing, negotiation, structuring, pricing, wordings), - Proven ability to define and implement a business plan - Proven ability to develop a commercial and tactical vision - Ability to successfully negotiate "face-to-face" with brokers and clients - Ability to use complex spreadsheets, word and power point - Knowledge of competitors, clients and brokers - Ability to manage projects in coordination with various stakeholders - Team player - International minded - Communication and interpersonal skills - Flexibility - Proactive - Analytical, organizational and reporting skills - Pricing / cash flow modelling experience would be a plus - Autonomy SCOR, the 4th largest reinsurer in the world, provides insurance companies with a diversified and innovative range of solutions and services to control and manage risk.
