**Assistant Vice President: Business Promotion Planning and Alliances. Planning Department**

SMBC is accelerating our multi-Franchise strategy and promoting the sustainable growth of SMBC Group companies in growing markets in the region. The role carries out strategic planning and conducting oversight of branches and subsidiaries for promoting business growth in India

The role carries out strategic planning, conducting oversight of subsidiaries and supporting business activities of subsidiaries for promoting business growth and expansion in India. This role will report to the MD and Head of Planning, India Division.

Main scope of the work is (i) to create business plan with group companies, setting Budget & KPIs, monitor and follow the achievement, (ii) to support business development in India and act as a bridge between SMBC and subsidiaries, to realize the growth of the banking business in India.

**Responsibilities**:

- Enhance business performance of branches and subsidiaries in India and expand the business by working closely with stakeholders to gather and provide insightful analysis, develop and propose solutions to capture business opportunities.
- Implement strategies and initiatives supported by a good understanding of financial markets and business processes to support business growth.
- Report to internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Proficiency in Japanese is preferred as this role needs to create reports to Japanese Financial Service Agency and to liaise with Head Office in Tokyo

**Requirement**
- Bachelors’ degree with minimum 5 years of work experience in the banking industry with experience in business management and performance management.
- Experience in consumer/retail/corporate/digital banking in regional markets such as Indonesia, Philippines, India and Vietnam is an advantage.
- Possess sound commercial sense in understanding business considerations with a keen interest in enhancing business value propositions.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management with the ability to process multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail and timeliness.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities (verbal and written) including excellent presentation skills, effective cross-cultural communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong collaboration and team playing abilities, with an ability to work with cross-functional teams across different countries while possessing the ability to work independently.
- Proactive with adaptability to change, and ability to implement innovative and value-adding solutions.
- Possess quantitative analytical, project management and critical thinking skills.
