**Job Summary**:
Responsible for leadership, development, management and achievement of current and long-range policies, procedures and initiatives to achieve the strategic goals and ambitions of the Office of Education. This will include providing leadership in key strategic and operational work programmes across the Office.
Formulate and develop strategic and operational plans of the Office at the organisational level under the direction of the senior academic team.
Lead the liaison and coordination with the Office of Corporate Services including Human Resources, Finance, Communications, IT and Development teams. Work closely with and coordinate liaison with the NUS Office of Legal Affairs as required under the direction of the Senior Office leadership.
Manage and oversee the strategic educational events portfolio including close liaison with Communications colleagues.
Manage and review work policies, frameworks and processes across the Office to ensure work outcomes are accomplished in an effective and efficient manner while adhering to organisational and procedural guidelines as well as good governance frameworks. This will include directing the planning of processes and initiatives to achieve good governance, efficiency and effectiveness of the Office’s budget and its associated programmes and entities.
Conceptualise and supervise intra-departmental and inter-departmental projects and programmes that are aligned with the goals and mission of the Office/School. This will include oversight of key operational improvement projects such as those related to digitalisation/automation and work process reviews across the Office through managing and monitoring progress and keeping track of work programmes.
Provide oversight to all governance matters and reports, including but not limited to coordination related to strategic planning, budgetary and funding, procurement, financial data analysis, human resource matters, contracts management, legal liaison, corporate liaison, business continuity plans, risk management and audit.
Work closely with the MD Programme Department and Human Resources Department in the management of processes for appointment and payment of education related full-time equivalent and associated part-time faculty or staff where applicable, for their leadership, teaching and delivery of educational programmes. Such management will include liaison with internal and external stakeholders such as Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, healthcare institutions in the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, and other relevant healthcare and academic institutions including Duke University.
Work closely with the Head of MD Programme Department and relevant Duke-NUS and NUS entities on the management of student conduct, grievances and disciplinary matters in accordance with existing policies and guidelines.
Manage and provide oversight to the work remit of Registrar Services, including but not limited to interfacing with NUS on student matters related to academic administration, registration, student records, graduation processes and data reporting, as well as interfacing with other relevant stakeholders across NUS, other healthcare institutions and Ministries of Education and Health as required.
Manage and provide oversight to administrative matters related to the operations of the joint Academic Medicine Education Institute (AMEI).
Provide secondary oversight of all operational and administrative processes to coordinate review work processes and ensure best practices in administration are adopted across the Office.
Develop the capabilities of staff as well as create opportunities for professional growth by providing them with ongoing coaching, feedback and support to ensure peak performance.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head of Office or his designate.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree or equivalent in a related discipline with a career history of successful senior leadership in business operations.
- More than 15 years of relevant work experience with at least 8 years in a leadership-related role.
- Possess strong organisational, management, leadership, problem solving and human relation skills.
- Strong and proven ability to develop, lead, manage and implement operational and strategic initiatives and programmes at scale and pace.
- Demonstrate a passion for working in an educational context and setting, and able to work in complex, dynamic and ambiguous settings demonstrating tact, diplomacy and good judgement.
- Able to work collegially, effectively and respectfully in pursuit of the Office/School mission, vision and work programmes.
