**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We are looking for an IT Manager - Operations & Lab Systems to join the Information Systems team to oversee the technology operations including the laboratory systems and support. This is an exciting opportunity to build a modern, responsive, and IT service delivery operation and a team which can serve the needs of corporate, laboratory and data science teams across multiple sites and countries.

The IT Manager will report to the Head of Information Systems. This role is responsible for the day-to-day IT operations of the organization’s information technology activities, meeting stakeholder requirements and Service Level Agreements. You are required to manage and oversee the helpdesk services, backup, and disaster recovery, manage and support projects and system, including vendor management. You are expected to possess good technical skillsets and to be a hands-on type of supervisor and managing the operation and team by providing necessary assistance and guidance.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Responsible for looking after 1st / 2nd line IT Support and IT Processes
- Provides guidance and leadership to the businesses and its team, directly supports end users by handling escalations, resolving user issues, and monitoring the performance of business-critical systems to prevent delays and outages and quickly resolve ongoing issues.
- Own the incident, change and service management processes, ensuring SLAs are met
- Provide operations dashboards and management reporting relating IT operations
- Responsible for improving operational management systems, processes, best practices, and compliance with policies
- Oversight of the system administration and perform periodic review on the use of the software and user access
- Own the backup of system and disaster recovery of key IT and equipment systems
- Perform hardware and software inventory checks on all EOL/EOS devices on a regular basis
- Align, track, plan and organise project activities and allocation of resources to meet deliverables from project objectives, within allocated budget
- Work with the equipment vendor to provide system support on the use of the equipment software, and software update as appropriate
- Review and perform patch management to keep the system operating software dated and free from security vulnerability
- Be the data guardian, you are expected to work closely with the Head of Department, Research Scientists as well as the IS Team to protect the Science data and maintain its data integrity
- Perform other duties as assigned

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in handling IT operations, handling laboratory system is an advantage
- Proven track record of handling IT operations and infrastructure support escalations (eg. network systems, storage)
- Familiarity with linux/unix environments, with Python, Node JS, Java etc scripting experience is an advantage
- Familiarity with High Performance Computing clusters is an advantage
- Good hands-on experience and understanding of Microsoft 365 and Intune is essential
- Demonstrated experience writing and testing disaster recovery procedures
- Highly motivated self-starter who will undertake all activities to the highest professional standards
- Ability to work with, communicate effectively with, and influence all levels of the organization
- Solution driven, able to react quickly and resolve issues so the workflow can continue
- Possess strong problem-solving skills when it comes to directly addressing user issues within the services support
- A well-rounder for all matters relating to operations management
