The Freight Operations Officer's main purpose is to support the Freight Team in performing the full scale of the operational function in air and sea freight forwarding. He/She needs to be detail-oriented, resourceful and analytical to manage resources cost-effectively. He/she requires organising and planning skills to ensure careful execution of projects according to customer requirements, as well as interpersonal skills, problem solving, negotiation and presentation skills for effective communication and management of stakeholders.

We're looking for a team player who is performance driven, proactive and agile in adapting to customer needs and make decisions independently. This position is part of a 6-members team that reports to the Head of Freight Services.
- Work Schedule: 5.5-days week, Mon-Fri 8.30am to 5.45pm, Alt Sat 8.30am to 1.30pm
- Work Location: Our office in Changi Airfreight Centre

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To evaluate customers’ shipping needs and recommend appropriate freighting solutions.
- To work with shipping companies suitable schedules, negotiate with carriers and finding the best rates for all sea and land freight shipments.
- To review all shipping documentation ensuring compliance with company standards and trading regulations.
- To execute all incoming and outgoing shipments, including customs declaration, transport planning, project cargo handling, terminal service handling, bonded warehouse handling, dangerous goods handling, shipments tracking and billing.
- To assist/advise client on site where required.
- To coordinate with insurance companies and ensuring that cargo is covered for damage or loss during transportation.
- To monitor shipment at every stage of the shipping process, communicate with customers regarding shipment details and delivery schedules.
- To assess carrier performance based on customer feedback and implementing changes where necessary.
- To establish relationships with vendors and suppliers to develop new business opportunities.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Logistics or related
- Minimum 2 years work experience in Freight Forwarding operations
- (Preferably) Valid Class 3 driving license

**Salary**: $2,700.00 - $3,400.00 per month
