**Assistant Underwriter, Treaty**
Singapore
Support the Underwriters in the region in all tasks related to the underwriting and administration support. Work closely with our Underwriters supporting them in their activities associated with renewals, servicing of accounts and updating models and systems. Assist the Underwriters in data quality assurance and continuous development of best practice in Business Services.
This is a regulated role under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity regime.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Reviewing submissions, preparing individual cases for pricing and modelling, analysing Contract wordings, assisting the Underwriters in discussions with Actuaries based on data analysis; using modelling and pricing systems to aid the underwriting process; conducting research as requested by Underwriters.
- Conducting pre-underwriting for renewals, handling endorsements, conducting specific analyses for new business, and following up on renewals.
- Assisting in preparation of regular reports and presentations to management.
- Following internal procedures for the transfer of information and data between functions and departments in order to service the requirements of the underwriters, clients and brokers. Take an active role in the continuous improvement of internal procedures to improve efficiency and ensure timely execution of processes.
- Understand the strategy and financial targets of AXA XL Reinsurance and those applicable to the business unit. You will be set appropriate individual targets and goals that support delivery of the business plan.
- Attending internal and external meetings with clients and brokers, as required. Build excellent interpersonal relationships with brokers, clients and colleagues with the intention of improving personal profile and reputation within AXA XL and the broader market.

- Able to perform tasks according to established procedures, with some ability to exercise discretion.
- Analytical Skills - Visualize, gather information, articulate, analyze and solve complex problems in order to make key business decisions.
- Strategy and Planning - Understand the factors that contribute to underwriting decisions and be able to articulate these to internal and external stakeholders to fulfill business strategic plan and deliver results. Has knowledge of financial targets and levers in order to deliver on departmental business plan.
- Industry Knowledge - Develop a strong understanding of the insurance industry and specific product portfolios to positively impact the underwriting business.
- Marketing - Effectively plan for sales and business development. Integrating the use of various techniques, tools, and information to support profitable business growth over a defined period.
- Working collaboratively in a team environment, assisting underwriters and the management team.
