**Position Summary**

Samsung is directly affected by a wide range of laws and regulations, as well as constantly changing demands from customers and other stakeholders. The Sustainability Affairs Manager is needed to ensure that compliance requirements are met, support the development/ implementation of policies and strategies to address legal obligations, and work with both external stakeholders and internal teams to support the diverse needs of the business. As a member of the Regional ESG team, you will be helping deliver innovative programmes to ensure Samsung Electronics Southeast Asia & Oceania is at the forefront of industry best practice.

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Provide support on global sustainability issues and manage environmental and social sustainability compliance and reporting requirements on product and operational related issues.
- Lead on environmental and social sustainability issues within SEAO (Southeast Asia & Oceania) - adding value to the organization through expert knowledge on specialist issues, e.g. extended producer responsibility, eco-design of products, hazardous chemicals management, energy efficiency, energy and carbon reporting, and human rights and labour issues
- Provide support to the SEAO RHQ and subsidiaries, on all ESG-related issues.
- Actively support SEAO as the key liaison for all ESG queries from external stakeholders such as governments, trade bodies, multi-lateral development organizations, enforcement authorities, major customers, distributors, and partner companies, NGOs and lobby groups, etc.
- Represent the company to the same external stakeholders.
- Monitor regional & national policy developments, assessing the impacts to the organization, recommending response/preparation strategies to HQ, and coordinating the implementation of SEAO the corporate policy, advocacy action and compliance strategy.
- Develop and deliver campaigns to change current SEAO Government policy to the reputational and commercial advantage of Samsung through cross-functional promotional work, etc.
- To promote the environmental benefits of (Samsung) technology to SEAO Governments and political stakeholders.
- To shape SEAO Government policy environment to one that opens markets and benefits key Samsung environmentally-friendly products and solutions.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- At least 5 years of professional experience in ESG-related work / government affairs / policy work, preferably with product types in Samsung’s portfolio.
- A desirable skill would be knowledge of eco-design / material efficiency topics such as product reparability, recyclability and adaptability.
- Excellent and demonstrable understanding of the policies and regulatory landscape and best practices on ESG in consumer electronics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent logical reasoning and structure in thought and communications
- Communication - ability to communicate clearly on sophisticated topics to different partners including across different cultures
- Leadership - ability to be the lead expert on key topics
- Analytical - great attention to detail
- Self-motivated and proactive - can work well alone but also cooperates with others, passionate, committed
