Infrastructure Operations Engineer

**The Role**

We are seeking a highly qualified and talented technologist to join us as a member of our Infrastructure Engineering team in either our Hong Kong or Singapore offices. This team is responsible for the architecture, design, administration and support of our global infrastructure. You will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, have confidence making critical decisions and work as part of a highly technical, global team.

**What you’ll do**

The Infrastructure Operations Engineer will support and expand the infrastructure environment at Schonfeld. You will take an active role in:

- Supporting, provisioning and maintaining the linux server platforms
- Supporting and maintaining our storage solutions
- Working closely with Platform/Trade to assist them resolving infrastructure-based issues
- Providing a contact point for Portfolio Managers to gather requirements and technical field technical queries
- Providing level 2 systems support in a 24/7 environment
- Helping with the automation of system administration tasks
- Evaluating new technologies to improve performance, reliability, and scalability of systems
- Documenting processes and procedures for support staff
- Participating in “follow-the-sun” support and partaking in an on-call rota for out-of-hours support

**What you’ll bring**

What you need:

- An excellent track record in triaging connectivity incidents and handling issues
- In depth Linux Administration experience, including performance tuning, stability (RedHat / Ubuntu)
- Experience supporting storage systems (Pure & Netapps)
- Experience using configuration management tools (Ansible preferred)
- Virtualization experience using VMware
- Scripting skills (Bash, Python)
- NFS (Network File System) infrastructure experience
- Experience supporting storage systems (Pure & Netapps)
- A “can-do” attitude and ability to work effectively under pressure as a member of a global team.
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership, with a track record of delivering results
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

We’d love if you had:

- Cloud architecture and administration experience, preferably in AWS.
- Experience using DevOps technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes
- Enjoyment working with low latency systems
- Experience working with GPFS
