Technology Consultant V (Hybrid Cloud SME)

This role has been designated as ‘Edge’, which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.

What You’ll Do
- Position yourself as a trusted advisor to HPE's clients, and partner with them to understand their requirements for cloud implementations.
- Design state-of-the-art hybrid-cloud solutions on on-premises and hyper scalers that address customer’s requirements for scalability, reliability, security, and performance and leverage existing investments and other platforms.
- Provide SME support for pre-sales and sales e.g., Statements of Work, project resource requirements, level of effort, defining client requirements, etc.
- Provide Project leadership for client engagements e.g., project roadmap, task definitions, client updates, etc.
- Create functional design specifications, reference architectures, and assist with other project deliverables as needed.
- Collaborate with other project teams on technical solutions and help improve HPE's service IP.
- Learn, learn, and learn by staying up to date on all technical developments related to cloud platforms.

What You’ve Done
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or another technical field, or equivalent experience.
- A firm grasp of Cloud Computing fundamentals, DevOps Methodology, Container Orchestration, and Software Development.
- Cloud certification in any of the following - Solutions Architect, Infrastructure Architect or Systems Ops
- Experience developing / building production grade software.
- At least 4 years building cloud environments including designing for high availability, building multi-region and multi-set architectures using virtual networks, availability sets, affinity groups and designing across appropriate SQL and NoSQL data layer technologies.
- Familiarity with secure software development including testing, security scans, GitFlow, repository design & security, deployment pipelines, etc.
- Familiarity with software development tools e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, Fortify, SonarQube, etc.
- Firm grasp of Infrastructure as Code and experience with one of the following Terraform, Bicep, or PowerShell DSC/CLI.
- Configuration and deployment experience in two or more of the following (azure or aws):

- Azure IaaS Technologies such as VMs, Virtual networks, Express Routes, Standard/Premium storage, etc.
- Azure PaaS technologies such as AKS, AzureSQL, etc.
- Azure SaaS technologies such as DevOps Services, Azure AD, etc.
- AWS IaaS Technologies such as EC2, S3, EBS, ELB, VPC, etc.
- AWS PaaS Technologies such as ECS/EKS, Elastic Beanstalk, RedShift, RDS, etc.
- AWS SaaS Technologies such as DynamoDB, Directory, CodeCommit
- Firm grasp on cloud security, leveraging Windows & Linux operating systems, Active Directory, Federated AD, AD integration.
- Firm grasp of the different ways to access the platform ex. CLI, SDK, and Console.
- Insights and Diagnostics using MS SCOM for both on-prem and Azure cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Office 365 and SharePoint service offerings.
- Experience as a hands-on technical practitioner/specialist in client facing roles in large enterprises and demonstrated client facing consulting skills, including building strong client relationships.
- Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communications skills.
- Strong team skills including the ability to lead and be a team player.

Skills Needed:

- Deep expertise in complex cloud deployments & architecture requirements
- Storage sizing and optimization.
- Software defined Networking, Micro-segmentation & storage architecting experience.
- Ability to design CMP (Cloud Management Platform) with mutli-cloud across On-prem & Off-prem.
- Value adds during Pursuit stage in architecting & right sizing the overall solution.
- Understanding of Containers, VM’s and bare metal deployments
- Understanding the complete landscape from Cloud to Apps to Pipelines to DB to Visualization
- Use case recommendations for higher aaS adoption.
- Ability to Hand Over/Take Over (HOTO) from Pursuit to Delivery
- HLD & LLD creation and sign-off across internal & external stakeholders
- Ability to design HA, DR, BCP across the enterprise.
- Ability to validate the integration into ITSM, ITOM, EMS tools.
- Understanding the SLA and architecting / integrating the solution to meet these demands.
- Systems testing & handover preparation from Professional Services to Managed Services teams either within HPE or Customer’s partners.
- Familiar with ISAT, FAT and UAT process
- Ability to multi-task across different Pursuit and Delivery assignments
- Individual to be open for hybrid working model both onsite / remote and across APAC region. May require travel in APAC and India region.
